Aperture Card Scanners

Money saving hint: To reduce labor costs with aperture card scanners, pre-sort the cards into light, medium and dark images. The scanners can adapt to the image brightness within a range. You will get better results with sorting, and will not have to search through your cards to rescan.

Most important consideration: Do a cost evaluation to determine whether to use an outside service or buy a scanner.

Shopping hint: Aperture card scanners are fast. If you do not have a large amount of cards, and you can purchase a used scanner with a warranty long enough to cover the scanning you need, the used scanner might be a wise choice.
