Money saving hints: If you plan to scan mostly maps and charts as distinguished from photographs, you may be able to buy an 8-Bit color scanner (256) colors and save $$. Using scanners with an Energy Star rated LED light source will save you on electricity.

Most important consideration: Do you need CCD or CIS technology? Are you scanning line drawings or artwork?

Shopping hint: If you are scanning anything color critical (like art work) find out if the dealer you are working with will do a sample scan for you. You'll want the raw image as well as an image that has been "corrected". If needed we are always willing to do a sample scan for our clients!
